Spurs see Davies and Dele return to the lineup, Dembele, Wanyama and Lamela back in training but not ready, and Danny Rose again available on the bench. Mane, Lallana and Clyne out for the visitors. Pundits are hoping for a wide open game, but most are predicting a low score. Dunno about that.

It's a special day as we come together to raise funds for the recovery of Flannery's and NYSpurs' Jimmy Flores. Raffles and prizes will reward your generosity and good will. Please be there.

Kudos to Poch for tactical innovation and flexibility.  Concerns were sometimes voiced on this board and elsewhere during his first season that he was tactically inflexible - always playing the high pressing game and dropping points by being hit on the break.   The games v Dortmund and yesterday v the bindippers shows us sitting deeper and hitting on the break to great effect.   Lack of pace among our attackers apparently not an issue.    I don't see the RM game as the same as these 2 as we sat higher and played 2 forwards - another tactical innovation.

The other more recent complaint was over this summer's transfers - spending more on defense, instead of attacking players.  The stark contrast between our security at the back (thanks to addition of Sanchez and Aurier) vs bindippers and Man U who we play next week couldn't be more stark.   Both of these teams lost due to defensive howlers over the w/e and while nothing is perfect - these are far less frequent with our defense.   That solid defensive shock absorber allows our front 4 to play more creatively.   What a time to be a Spurs supporter!
